Here are two new arrivals in the Young Adult section, and also, don't forget to sign up for the Young Adult Summer Reading Club at the library!

Kekkaishi Volume 2 by Yellow Tanabe
In the second book of this manga/graphic novel series, Yoshimori and Tokine have to put aside their differences and work together to defeat the demon-charmer Yomi and her monstrous pet demon Yoki. Can they save their school from this monster?

The War Within: A Novel of the Civil War by Carol Matas
Hannah can't believe what she and her Jewish family have to go through in the south during the Civil War. First, her sister falls in love with the enemy -- a Union soldier, and then General Grant's General Order #11 commands all Jews to evacuate the territory. Now, because she is Jewish, Hannah can't go back home to Mississippi. Can she decide which side of the war she wants to be on?

In addition, starting today, young adults, fifth grade and up, are invited to participate in the 2006 New York State Summer Reading Club. You must read four (4) books of your choice, and you may include books from your required Summer Reading List. Just stop by the library during the week of June 26th and fill out an index card with your name, address, telephone number and the grade you will be entering in September. Also, fill out your name on a separate reading record. When you complete a book, you can record the title and author on the reading record.

Weekly prize drawings will take place at 3:00 p.m. each Friday through August 4th, and Gift Certificates from local merchants will be awarded.
