Did you know that teenager Maria Sharapova, a professional tennis player, is currently ranked as the number one women's singles player in the world? According to Wikipedia, "In April 2005, Sharapova was listed by People Magazine as among the 50 most beautiful celebrities in the world. In June of 2005, Forbes magazine listed Sharapova as the highest-paid female athlete in the world, with annual earnings of $18 million." She is currently competing in the 2005 U.S. Open, which takes place in Flushing Meadows (Queens, NY) from August 29 through September 11.
